Description
This is a beautiful hand-painted World War II Allies "V for Victory" pin. The credit for first using the "V" sign in conjunction with "Victory" is given to the former Belgian Minister of Justice and broadcaster for the BBC, Victor de Laveleye. This chained pin has flags for the United States, Great Britain and Belgium with a pennant-shaped French flag pendant hanging below.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Hand-painted gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety pin, chains.
