ARTIFACT:
This is a circa early 1950s Braniff Airways stewardess wing 4th issue by the George Alan Company. Braniff was born in 1930 and originally flew routes between Oklahoma and Texas. This wing is from about the time that the company's founder, Thomas Elmer Braniff, died in a small aircraft accident. He was succeeded by Charles Beard as President. The wing is in gilt sterling silver with an enameled logo.
VINTAGE:
Circa early 1950s.
SIZE:
Approximately 3/4" in height and 2-1/2" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt sterling silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
