Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful circa early 1920s lapel pin for the Aero Service Corporation, a pioneering aerial photography company. Five years after the company opened in Philadelphia in 1919, World War I veteran pilot Virgil I. Kauffman got on board and garnered important surveying contracts with the United States government. The pin shows the company's dynamic eagle and camera logo at its center.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1920s.

SIZE:

Approximately 3/4" in height and 3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING.
