Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful circa 1944 formation sign (patch) for the British 14th Army, which was under the South East Asia Command, and by the end of World War II was the largest Commonwealth army. The patch was hand-made in India of red wool and has a sword and the Roman numeral XV at its center. The patch has jungle jacket material basting.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1944 (World War II).

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool embroidered in silk/cotton thread, jungle jacket material basting.
