Description
Beautiful circa 1942 Ð 43 1st Die Type Polish pilot badge made in the United Kingdom by JR Gaunt of London. The badge features a nice maker's mark on the reverse which reads: "J.R. GAUNT (??) LONDON". The badge is in the shape of a flying eagle carrying a wreath in its beak, this example is in pristine condition, it would be hard to upgrade this badge.
VINTAGE:Circa 1942 - 1943
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" with a chain drop of 2-1/4"
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated brass, brass screwback
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with screwback, chain with hook hanger.

CONDITION:9+ (Near Mint-): The badge shows little wear, nearly all the silver plating details remain intact, overall excellent condition, it would be hard to upgrade this example.
