This is a Beautiful circa 1900 - World War I Papal Order of Pius IX Commander Neck Badge in Gilt & Enameled Silver.
Front center reads:VIRTUTI ET MERITO: VIRTUE AND MERIT

VINTAGE:
Circa 1900 - World War I.
SIZE:Approximately: 2-3/8" in height x 2-1/2" in width. (Edge to Edge of the Blue enamel). Loop: 1-1/4" in height x 3/16" in width. Ribbon: 18" in length x 1-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt & Enameled Silver.
ATTACHMENT:Loop, Ribbon.
