Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful 1930s or early World War II French Maginot Line Fortress Troops badge. Fortress troops, and later interval troops, defended the fortified line of defense built between France and Germany. This badge is the only profusely decorated example I have seen, with vibrant colors showing a scene of hillside defense with an artillery gun at the ready. The top of the badge reads "On Ne Passe Pas" (No one passes).
