ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful 1930s or early World War II French Maginot Line Fortress Troops badge. Fortress troops, and later interval troops, defended the fortified line of defense built between France and Germany. This badge is the only profusely decorated example I have seen, with vibrant colors showing a scene of hillside defense with an artillery gun at the ready. The top of the badge reads "On Ne Passe Pas" (No one passes).

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s-early World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a pre-WWII French Army insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay CON-DMB-25-144 LABJX6/14 SeACJX8/15

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge has very light wear only.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
