Description
This is a beautiful Virginia Polytechnic Institute Class of 1930 pin in 10 karat gold. Originally founded as the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1872, the school's name grew to include "Polytechnic Institute" in 1896, and then later all other references were dropped for simplicity's sake. The graduate's initials, W. G. D. are engraved upon the reverse, and the pin has an ELLIOTT maker mark as well.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930.
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" in height and 3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:10 karat gold (6.1 grams).
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with a Tiffany-style catch.
MARKINGS:10K ELLIOTT; W. G. D. initials.
