Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 10 karat gold 1930s Ricker Classical Institute school pin. Located in the small border town of Houlton, Maine, the college was founded in 1848 as Houlton Academy and later renamed. The pin shows a five-pointed star at it center and reads VINCIT QUI SE VINCIT (He conquers who conquers himself). The long ago owner's initials have been etched on the pin's reverse.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930's.

SIZE:

Approximately 7/16"in height and 3/8"in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

10 karat gold.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch and loop.

MARKINGS:
