ARTIFACT: This is a Northwest Airlines U.S. Air Mail service pin by Balfour. Northwest had begun in 1926 as Northwest Airways but changed its name in 1933 to be allowed to carry air mail. The pin has a red, white and blue bull's-eye design at center bearing a smaller wing with a diamond chip at center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1980s.

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated with enamel, brass, diamond chip.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: LGB X.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airlines collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJR10/98 LFJX11/10

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Pin shows some light wear and slight discoloration on the enamel.
