Description
This is a United States Marine Corps Marine Air Group 26 (MAG-26) jacket patch. MAG-26 was designated as such on March 1, 1959, and sections of the group participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis and Iran hostage rescue attempt. The patch is triangular with a rope-design border and shows a palm tree next to an aircraft carrier. Across the middle is a golden wing bearing the number 26 within a red diamond.
VINTAGE:Circa 1970s.
SIZE:Approximately 5" in height and 5-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, muslin backing.
