ARTIFACT:

This is a 1970's Japanese-made patch for the United States Navy nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine USS Simon Bolivar SSBN-64She was launched from Newport News, Virginia on August 22, 1964 and was decommissioned in February 199The patch bears the motto WITHOUT FEAR - WITHOUT REPROACH.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1970's.

SIZE:

Approximately 4-15/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester threads, muslin backing.
