ARTIFACT:

This is a 1960s United States Army distinctive insignia for the 519th Military Police Battalion by Vanguard. The DI shows an Oriental stone garden lantern to represent service in Okinawa and a wave to commemorate their amphibious landing in 194The DI reads SERVICE TO THE TROOPS.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts.

MARKINGS:

VANGUARD NEW YORK V-21 MADE IN USA.
