ARTIFACT:

This is a distinctive insignia by Susco for the United States Army Military District of Washington, a major Army command. The DI is a flag with two crossed swords in front of it and reads HAEC PROTEGIMUS (this guard).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/16" in height 1-1/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts with clutch-back catches.

MARKINGS:

SUSCO S21.

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine+): The DI has some light abrasions to the enamel and areas of light tranish.
