This is a 1960s sterling pilot hat badge third issue for Allegheny Airlines, which flew out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1952 to 1979, when it changed its name to USAir. The badge shows a wreathed red and blue enameled boomerang-like wing at center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-11/16" height and 2-1/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:One screw post with disc backing and two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:STERLING.
