Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1952 cruise patch for the United States Navy 19th Carrier Group (CVG-19) from Pilot Bill Rice. The patch reads 19 KOREA and shows symbols for squadrons VA-55, VF-192, VF-193 and VA-195.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1952.

SIZE:

About 10" in height and 3-3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Multi-piece felt and cotton patch embroidered in gold bullion and multi-colored silk/cotton threads with muslin backing.

MARKINGS:

Handwriting of Bill Rice on reverse.

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): Patch shows several small holes in felt but has a great design.
