This is a 1951 advertising paperweight for the 75th anniversary of Eli Lilly and Company, the first pharmaceutical company to produce penicillin in mass quantities. The paperweight depicts what is probably a likeness of Hippocrates, the "Father of Medicine", along with some assistant muses.
VINTAGE:Circa 1951.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/8" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Three spherical feet.
MARKINGS:LGB STERLING.
