This is a 1950s distinctive insignia for the United States Army 83rd Field Artillery Regiment. The DI is a brightly colored crest showing a bear, the head of a Native American male and a winged horse. The DI reads FLAGRANTE BELLO (blazing hostilities).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The DI shows some very light wear only and the posts are slightly bent.
