Description
This is a circa 1950s squadron patch made for the United States Air Force's 511th Fighter Bomber Squadron 408th Fighter Bomber Wing out of Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. From 1953-1956 the squadron flew F-89s and from 1956-1958 they flew F-100s. The patch shows a dive-bombing vulture complete with head bandage dropping some bombs. The patch reads 511th FTR. BMB. SQ.

SIZE:3-15/16" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton patch embroidered with red, yellow, black and white cotton threads.
