Description
This is a circa 1950s French badge for the 25th Division d'Infanterie Aroporte (DIAP), or 25th Airborne Infantry Division. In the second year of the Korean War, France was able to finance the establishment the 25th. It functioned as a United Nations Forces adjunct, and later served in Algeria, being disbanded in 195The badge, which was nicknamed the Tomato (la Tomate), is by Drago, and is gorgeously enameled with a parachute at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1951-1956.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin with two round saddles.
MARKINGS:611 (?) DRAGO PARIS .
