Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa early 1950s badge for the French Foreign Legion 3rd Parachute Battalion (3° BEP, or Bataillon Etranger de Parachutistes). The battalion served in Tunisia, at Dien Bien Phu in French Indochina, and later at Algeria. The badge was made by Drago of Paris.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin with two round saddles.

MARKINGS:

DRAGO PARIS on reverse of badge and on saddles.

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has only one very tiny speck of wear to the enamel.
