ARTIFACT: This is a 1944 copy of the United States Navy manual "Survival on Land and Sea" NAVAER 13-1-501. It was prepared by the Ethnographic Board and the Staff of the Smithsonian Institution, and has several black and white Audubon-esque illustrations of flora and fauna. The manual begins with a 16 page integral supplement section entitled "Special Naval Aviation Supplement to Survival on Land and Sea" by the Bureau of Aeronautics.

VINTAGE: Published 1944.

SIZE: 187 pages plus a two page index; approximately 5-1/4" in height and 4-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1944.
