This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Billfish (SS-286) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on November 12, 194The Billfish was commissioned on April 20, 1943 and earned seven battle stars during World War II.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:Approximately 5-5/16 in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed sepia silk.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LFJX3/11 SFJX10/21
CONDITION:9 (Excellent-Near Mint): The ribbon has very minor storage wear.
