This is a 1940s New Jersey Motor Vehicle Examiner hat badge. The badge reads EXAMINER DEPT. OF MOTOR VEHICLES NEW JERSEY and has the State of New Jersey seal at center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:1-3/16" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass with black painted letters.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw pin (disc backing is missing).
MARKINGS:142 engraved on reverse.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a state agency collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEX04 L/SAGEX 4/10
CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): Badge shows very light wear but is missing disc backing.
