This is a postal cover for the USS Wasp dated April 25, 1940 and stamped "First Day In Commission". The postal cover is nicely illustrated with an image of the ship and is addressed to a Mr. Warren D. Liebmann of Eliot, Maine.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940.
SIZE:About 9-3/8" in width by 4-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed paper.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): Minor wear; minor yellowing of the paper; one ½ inch tear to right side and one ¼ inch tear to left side; glue holding flaps together no longer sticking.
