ARTIFACT:
This is a French badge for the DCA-DAT (Defence Against Aircraft - Air Defence of the Territory), an anti-aircraft artillery group formed in Tunisia in 1941. The badge was made locally in Tunisia and shows an eagle upon a crescent with two upward pointing artillery cannons. Ceci est un badge pour le DCA-DAT (Défense Contre les Aéronefs - Défense Aérienne du Territoire), un groupe d'artillerie anti-aérienne formés en Tunisie en 1941. L'insigne a été fait localement en Tunisie et en montre un aigle sur un croissant avec deux canons d'artillerie pointant vers le haut.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1940-1941.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1-5/8" in width. Environ 3.2 cm par 4.1 cm.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Sand-cast brass. Laiton moulé dans le sable.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal T pin with C catch. Horizontal broches T avec C attraper.

None. Rien.
