Description
This is a Schlagetertag (Schlageter Day) 1936 tinnie. The tinnie commemorates the death of Albert Leo Schlageter, a national hero during the Thrid Reich, Schlageter was awarded both the Iron Cross First and Second Class during World War I. After the war, he became involved with the Nazi Party and led acts of sabotage against the French and Belgium occupiers of the Ruhr. Schlageter was executed on May 26, 1923 by the French.
VINTAGE:Circa 1936.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Stamped brass with painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
