ARTIFACT: This is a 1931 copy of the "Rules for the Government of the Operating Department" for Boston and Maine Railroad, a dominant New England railroad company dating from 183The pocket-sized book has some examples of blank forms, all regulations pertaining to train operations and several color illustrations showing different railroad signal positions. The title of the book is embossed on the cover but it is barely readable. (image 2)

VINTAGE: Published 1931.

SIZE: 283 pages plus a two page index; approximately 6-3/8" in height and 4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: Cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: No. 4867; Carroll J. Rawling Frt. Frmn(?) written inside front cover; Rand Avery Supply Co. Boston 18995 (last page).
