Description
This is a 1930s grouping of police badges, insignia and an identification card from Frederick B. Frimel, a Lieutenant and Deputy Chief in Sea Cliff, New York. The grouping includes a Sea Cliff Police lieutenant's badge, a Sea Cliff Police deputy chief badge with leather wallet, a signed and stamped picture identification card for the Office of Civilian Protection in Nassau County, NY, an engraved, gold-filled Nassau Police American Legion Post pin by Dieges & Clust, a City of New York Police insignia, a Lord's Prayer medallion with silk ribbon, an American Legion badge with silk ribbon by Balfour, a 1938 American Legion badge and a 1932 George Washington bicentennial American Legion badge with silk ribbon.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Medals, badges and stud are various sizes; ID card is about 2-7/16" in height and 4-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Lieutenant badge: rolled gold with blue enamel; deputy chief badge: gold-plated with blue enamel lettering; wallet: black leather; identification card: paper stamped by Nassau County with black and white photo; Nassau Police American Legion Post pin: gold-filled with blue enamel; other badges are mostly plated brass with silk ribbons.
ATTACHMENT:Lieutenant badge and deputy chief badge: vertical kick pin with drop-in locking swivel catch; wallet: snap closure; two insignia: horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch; Balfour badge: horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch; 1932 badge: horizontal safety-style pin with "C" catch; Lord's Prayer badge: ribbon; 1938 badge: no attachment.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Items are in various conditions but overall are very fine, with light wear and tarnish. The 1932 badge is unfortunately held together by only a thread.
