ARTIFACT:

This is a New York State Department of Farms and Markets agent badge by Bastian Brothers Co. The badge reads N.Y. STATE DEPT. FARMS & MARKETS AGENT and is stamped with a 36.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

1-7/16" height and 1-3/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass and enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER N.Y. and a maker's mark of M.P.B. P.I.U. within a crest.
