ARTIFACT:
This is a 1930s National Aeronautic Association (NAA) Academy of Model Aeronautics lapel pin by Balfour Company. The AMA is an associate member of the National Aeronautic Association of the United States (NAA) and is the official body for model aviation in the United States. AMA runs over 2,000 model competitions at home annually and certifies official model flying records on a nationally and internationally. The pin shows a winged torch bearing the letters NAA and reads ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930s.
SIZE:
3/8" height and 5/8" width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Single-screw pin with disc backing.
MARKINGS:
