Description
This is a circa late 1930s or early World War II bullion cap badge for a political leader in the Italian National Facsist Party, or PNF (Partito Nazionale Fascista). The badge is a great eagle in golden bullion perched upon a fasces, and would have been worn upon the visor cap of a functionary leader of the Ministries of the Fascist government. The dark ruby (robbio) wool denotes that it was worn by a member of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1930s or early World War II (1938-1943).
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in width and 2-15/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool embroidered in bullion and cotton/silk threads.
