Description
This is a numbered 1920s Baltimore & Ohio (B & O) Railroad police badge. Started in 1830, the B&O was an effort by the port city of Baltimore to open up routes to the west rivaling the Erie Canal. The B&O eventually also ran from Baltimore to Washington, D.C. The badge reads BALTIMORE & OHIO R.R. RAILWAY POLICE and shows the top of the Capitol Building at center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s.
SIZE:About 2-9/16" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
