ARTIFACT:
This is a nice circa 1920s Irish Republic Army enlisted man hat insignia. This insignia is from around the Irish Civil War period, and bears an "FF" at center for "Fianna F??il" (Warriors of F??l, or Warriors of Ireland). The insignia is a starburst with a garter belt at center bearing the words ??glaigh na h??ireann (also a way to say "Warriors of Ireland").
VINTAGE:
Circa 1920s.
SIZE:
About 1-9/16" in width by 1-9/16" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Stamped brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Two loops for cotter pin (one loop broken off and pin not present).
