ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1920s Irish Republican Army enlisted man hat insignia. This insignia is from around the Irish Civil War period, and bears an "FF" at center for "Fianna Fil" (Warriors of Fl, or Warriors of Ireland). The insignia is a starburst with a garter belt at center bearing the words glaigh na hireann (also a way to say "Warriors of Ireland").

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: About 1-9/16" in width by 1-9/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops, cotter pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Great Britain and Commonwealth collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VFJX01 LAEJX SeAEJX1/15

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The insignia has some minor wear and moderate corrosion; loops have been compressed making it difficult to remove the pin.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
