ARTIFACT: 1920's – 1930's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania United States Post Office Letter Carrier hat badge. The stamped oval badge features an eagle with spread wings facing the viewer's left at the top and the below reads: "U.S. POST OFFICE PITTSBURGH, PA" and the center is numbered: "2103". The reverse shows a nice maker's mark that reads: "N.C. WALTER & SONS, NEW YORK".

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's – 1940's

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" x 2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel plated brass

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety style pin.

MARKINGS: "N.C. WALTER & SONS, NEW YORK"

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The hat badge shows moderate to heavy wear, mostly to high points and some of the plating details remain intact.
