ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1917 UCV (United Confederate Veterans) reunion ribbon from the John F. Hill Camp in Clarksville, Arkansas. Formed in 1889, the UCV was the Confederate answer to the Union's Grand Army of the Republic. The ribbon may contain a typo, as it reads John H. (instead of John F.) Hill Camp. There was a veteran named John H. Hill associated with the UCV who was a courier in Lieutenant General William Hardee's Corps, Army of Tennessee. However, we have found no evidence that there was also a camp named after him.

VINTAGE: Circa 1917.

SIZE: Approximately 5-3/8" in height and 1-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old Confederate veteran collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay TRAJX14 LAFEX8/14

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The ribbon has some light wear/creasing and a few small tears.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
