Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a ribbon for the New Hampshire Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) 45th Annual Encampment, which took place in the capital city of Concord 1n April 191The badge has a decorative bar at top and its medallion reads GAR and shows the Grand Army of the Republic seal. The back of the medallion shows an interesting design of an elongated oak leaf with four banners.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1912.

SIZE:

4-/16" height and 2-1/16" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze badge and printed red, white and blue silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J. printed on reverse of ribbon.
