Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great circa 1910s Gilchrist No. 33 conical ice cream scoop. It is in nickel-plated brass with a wooden handle. After ice cream is in the scoop, the thumb-pad on the lever should be depressed to activate the rod which moves the plate inside the cone. This will scrape the ice cream away from the edge and into your dish or cone.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1910s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-5/8" in diameter (scoop only); 10-1/4" in total length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wood, nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Lever.

MARKINGS:

GILCHRIST'S No. 33 on lever thumb-pad; 10 inside scoop.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The scoop has some light to medium wear and one small split to the handle that does not affect the usability; some small spots of minor oxidation.
