ARTIFACT: This is a 1903 International Yacht Races lithographical tin tray of the sailing yacht "Reliance". Reliance had a brief and undefeated career, successfully winning the America's Cup on three occasions. She was built with overhangs to circumvent the event's 90' foot rule regarding craft length and was regarded as a "freak". The tray has a simple scene of the yacht at its center and several pennants and other icons decorate the rim. The reverse of the tray is actually sage green in color but looks white in the photograph (above).

VINTAGE: Circa 1903.

SIZE: Approximately 5-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Lithographed tin.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: SAVAGE M'F'G CO. BROOKLYN N.Y. METAL SIGNS AND TIN BOXES.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a nautical collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX11 LFEX5/11 SFEX8/12

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent-): The tray shows some small spots of wear and hardly any fading.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
