Description
This is a circa 1900s or 1910s Union Railway Company (URCo) of St. Joseph, Missouri street railway trolley wire superintendent badge. St. Joseph was a huge railway hub, and its first street trolley was operational by 188The badge is shield-shaped and has an intricate URCo monogram in blue enamel at its center. It also has a partially unreadable maker mark, probably for Adams Stamp & Stationery of St. Louis.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900s-1910s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 1-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:ADA- STL- (probably once read ADAMS S&S CO. ST. LOUIS).

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge has some areas of light to medium wear and couple of very small slivers of enamel are missing.
