ARTIFACT:

This is an 1895 committee badge for Boston City (or Common) Council member, George A. Garland. This badge is engraved to Garland on reverse and has a Boston maker mark. It is handsomely done in copper with 10 karat gold, and shows the Seal of the City of Boston at its center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1895.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 1-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

10K Gold, copper.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS:

L.A. HALL & CO. BOSTON; G.A. GARLAND.
