ARTIFACT:
Scarce early WWII New York City (NYC) Defense Recreation Committee member badge circa 194The DRC was a service organization similar to the USO, JWB, etc. The member pin is a red, white, and blue enameled shield that reads: "NEW YORK CITY DEFENSE RECREATION COMMITTEE" in gilt brass lettering. The reverse shows a Whitehead & Hoag Co. maker's mark.
