ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1880s-1890s inspector badge for the Lowell Gaslight Company of Lowell, Massachusetts. The badge is oval and is numbered 73 at its center.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 2-9/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Nickel-plated brass with painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal safety-style pin (replaced with plain pin) with C catch.
MARKINGS:
None.

CONDITION:
6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The badge shows light wear and tarnish and one spot of heavy wear at its center; most of the painted lettering has worn away.
