1880s-1890s Boston, Massachusetts Letter Carrier Hat Badge

This is a rare 19th century United States Mail letter carrier hat badge from Massachusetts' capital city, Boston. The badge is topped by a scallop shell design and is numbered 503.

Circa 1880s-1890s.

About 2-3/8" height and 3" width.

Brass.

One loop where hat pin would have been affixed (one is missing).
