This is a circa 1880s or 1890s Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers steam engine and coal tender lapel pin: it is the only one I've seen. The pin is beautifully handmade and hand-engraved in tested 14 karat yellow and rose gold. There are many fine details and even the engineer is visible at the back of the engine.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:Approximately 7/16" in height and 1-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:14 karat gold (tested).
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:None.
