1870s San Francisco, California Detective Bureau Shield (Excavated)

This is a circa 1870s San Francisco, California Detective Bureau shield badge found during excavation work. The badge reads S.F. DETECTIVE BUREAU 30.

Circa 1870s.

2-1/2" height and 1-3/4" width.

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

Vertical T-style pin with "C" catch is missing.
