ARTIFACT: This is a United States Militia officer belt and buckle from the 1850s. The belt has a stitched and scalloped border on each edge and is a brilliant orange-red and white. The buckle shows an insignia in relief of an eagle clutching arrows and a laurel branch.

VINTAGE: Circa 1850s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-15/16" width (at buckle) and 37-1/2" length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted/stained leather with brass.

ATTACHMENT: Belt buckle with rectangular loop and clip.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.  VAEJX05 LDEJX8/10 SLCEJX4/16 SVCEEX10/20

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): Belt is somewhat brittle and shows heavy crackling but can still be folded. One loop is almost severed.
