ARTIFACT: This is a great first edition of the World War II United States Navy VF-10 unit history entitled "The Grim Reapers". The squadron served aboard the USS Enterprise (CV-6), flying the F4F Wildcat, F6F-3 Helicat and later the F4U Corsair. They served in the Pacific Theatre, with the Battle of Guadalcanal being their first official battle. This history was written by Stanley Johnston and was published during wartime (1943). There are several illustrations, including a few maps.

VINTAGE: Published 1943.

SIZE: 221 pages, approximately 8-1/4" in height and 5-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: Burrows & Sanborn Lynn, Mass. stamp on title page; Copyright 1943, by E.P. Dutton & Co. Inc., First Edition.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The book has some wear and a few pages have staining or minor rips along the edge; there are dents in both covers (much smaller one on back cover).
