ARTIFACT:
This is a World War II recruitment booklet for the United States Navy Waves. The WAVES, or the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, were the first women to serve in the army as a division of the US Navy. The booklet contains several black and white photographs of women at work in the Navy and of course information on recruitment centers in each state of the union. The cover art was painted by John Falter, USNR, and we have a poster of this same painting available for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).

49 pages including black and white photographs; approximately 9" in height and 6" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Glossy card stock cover, paper.

Stapled binding.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The booklet has some light wear only with some minor creasing and one very small tear to the cover.
